ABOUT NIC HUGHES
Several years ago I started out managing property and maintaining the plumbing for the building. I soon realised that I really loved the plumbing side of things, so much so, that I got my plumbing qualifications and started a business, and have never looked back.
I now live and work in Hackney E5. I know the area really well as I cycle around it travelling to each job with my trusted bike and Stanley backpack. This comes with many benefits - for customers, it means that I can get to each job on time as I never get stuck in traffic and I can easily park up. I've calculated that I travel 70-80 miles every week on my bike, it's no wonder my partner says I eat a lot! And most importantly, it's carbon neutral and good for the environment.

Tesco the chicken
When you meet me, you'll notice my Welsh accent. I grew up in Pontypool in South Wales, hence the Ponty Plumbing name. As a child we had several pets including dogs. I still love animals and enjoy meeting inquisitive pets during my plumbing work. In the picture on the left I'm holding Tesco the chicken from a customer's very cool roof garden in Haggerston. Below are some of the other cute pets I've come across when plumbing in Hackney, there's more on my Instagram.
As for my work ethic, I take this seriously, I really enjoy my work and strive to be friendly, efficient and reliable. I'm always happy to give advice wherever needed.
